We are delighted to announce that a small baby European bison was born in the Wildlife Park!
This endangered species is closely monitored and is the subject of numerous conservation, protection and, reintroduction schemes. Every time a bison is born, it needs to be recorded in a special register known as the “studbook”. This is why we had to find her a name beginning with “GR”, in order to clearly identify her place of birth.
So we asked our Facebook fans to help us find her a name. After much debate, we decided to call her Grisha, the name that was suggested to us by Laura, one of our creative Facebook followers.
