The Mysterious room

A small chamber full of concretions of surprising shapes and colours.

The calcite deposits have been coloured by the minerals carried by the infiltration water: Iron oxide produces the reds and oranges, lead oxide and manganese produce the greys and blues. The white is the base colour.

At the exit to this chamber, visitors walk under a remarkable stalagmite floor that dates back more than 120.000 years.
